Lately I've been watching a lot of TLC, or The Circus Side-show Channel as our guy friends have dubbed it. I can't help it, it's great background TV when you've got nothing else going on. I'm not even ashamed to admit it, I'm obsessed lately with The Little Couple, Long Island Medium, and yes... oh yes... I even watched the whole past season of Sister Wives. I think I like these shows for the same reason why I like blogging - I can peek into the lives of others, and damn if I'm not fascinated by the lives of others.
I've realized, as I've struggled lately to have any blog fodder even, that if I were a TLC reality show we would have to rename it to "TBC" or, "The Boring Channel". I mean, somehow The Little Couple showing us that they are cleaning out their linen closet is made to be interesting... but if you watched me pack away my spring/summer clothes this weekend, I'm certain you'd never be as enthralled!
I can just picture these cameras following me around my one-bedroom condo. Catching all my famous weekday evening moments on tape -- sitting and watching TV on the couch. Watching TV while typing on my computer, checking Facebook. Making a cup of tea, and then reading a book in bed. Oooh, the DRAMA.
I suppose Tuesday nights would be more interesting, as the camera crew would follow me to my tap class and maybe some of the other women would be entertaining there. If I had a get together with my friends on the weekend, that might make for some entertainment. We could showcase a board game, or, you know, they could film us watching the Saturday night hockey game, on, oh yes, TV.
Honestly, I think the show would have to be less about my life, and much more about Mr. Lock. He could cook, and then give away strategies for playing Starcraft.
I suppose my life is mostly interesting at school, but then all the kids' faces would be blurred out, and anyway, that show would be less about MY life and much more about kids sayin' the darndest things.
Yup, "The Boring Channel"... thankfully NOT coming soon to your cable provider!
Now back to watching this repeat episode of The Little Couple, which I already watched yesterday and yet have still left on to watch again this evening. TLC, you are an addictive devil of a channel.

A Mish-Mash on a Friday Night
I'm having a lazy Friday night tonight, and I am happy for it! The first week back to school following March Break was a good one, but I am definitely exhausted! We've been building bridges out of uncooked spaghetti noodles and white glue to launch our structures unit for science... it made for a messy and hectic week! Very fun little project, though... for the kids, anyway!
So, tonight, I am planning to just veg out on the couch, drink some tea, watch some old episodes of The Nanny on Netflix... I love re-watching old sitcoms, especially getting to see them in order since I used to just catch random episodes back in the day. Fran may have a super annoying voice, but darn it... The Nanny is very cute and funny. I've also been enjoying catching old eps of Boy Meets World off of ABC Spark... not afraid to admit it, I will definitely be watching Girl Meets World when it airs... for the nostalgia! I am loving how "into it" Ben Savage (Corey) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga) are... haha. I will love Corey and Topanga forever. Ah, being a child of the 90s. Loved it.
In other random news, two of my cousins, who are particularly fantastic singers, are auditioning for MuchMusic's Covers contest for 2013. This is a link to their video, it would be awesome if you'd give it a listen, and then go back and vote for them... you can vote once per day until April 21st. I'm really quite proud of them!
And then final random thing... which may need to become a post all on its own... is that we emailed Target, which has just started opening stores in Canada, to see if we could potentially set up a donation table outside one of their stores, to raise some money for our upcoming charity walk for The Weekend to End Women's Cancers (a huge charity event for Toronto, for the Princess Margaret Hospital's Campbell Family Institute, a TOP FIVE worldwide research centre). This sort of thing is called a "tag day" by the charity, and they recommend trying it. We've bought pre-made pink ribbons and would have some baked goods and pink lemonade available for donations of loose change and such. Their response was apparently very rude, Quin was the one to receive it.
She said they compared our request to politicians soliciting votes?!? Something ridiculous... I need to get more details, but to be honest.. I was thinking of visiting a Target this weekend to check out their new Canadian stores... and this has soured that for me. Even if they don't want "tag days" to happen outside of their stores (places like the LCBO, Walmart, other grocery stores allow them so we just thought we'd ask), they could at least reply respectfully considering we are working to raise money for cancer research for a very legitimate and massive event in Toronto. Makes me mad when a company can't just speak respectfully back to you, all they had to say was a simple, "Sorry, our policy isn't to allow fundraising at our doors" or something so easy and yet polite.
So, I need a few more details from Quin to hear their whole response, but we are quite upset with Target Canada right now, or at least the person who replied to us who works for them. It's very discouraging that as a new business in our neighbourhoods, they wouldn't want to build a sense of community through at least respectful communication with their customers! I for one am not as interested in visiting their new stores as I once thought I was...
Well, have a very nice weekend, everyone! I'm going to sort a bit of laundry and brew my tea! Peace and relaxation, and Nanny Fine and Mr. Sheffield, here I come!

And back to work I go!
Well, I am enjoying a very lazy Sunday after quite a busy August! It began with a week long course all about preparing to teach the third and fourth grades this Fall. A 3/4 combined class is a very new adventure for me as a teacher, so I'm a little anxious about it, but am also really looking forward to getting back to work! The course was invaluable, so many resources and ideas... really got me excited for September!
Then, it was a week at Mr. Lock's family cottage, followed by a sudden last-minute trip to South Carolina for a week with my family. My parents have decided to purchase a vacation home down there, they will have it in a rental pool for awhile as they are not yet at retirement age, but then they hope to become "snow birds" and spend a few months of each year down in sunny South Carolina! We vacationed in Myrtle Beach our entire lives, so it feels like a second home. I'm really excited that they found a gorgeous 3-bedroom condo down there, for such an amazing price (sorry for the real estate drop, Americans, but we sure benefited from it in this case!).
Then it was Quin's bachelorette party in down town Toronto, followed by a Saturday night of line dancing with Multi-Testing Mommy -- awesome weekend!
Now, it's a lazy Sunday and then tomorrow... I'm back in my school (finally!) as I begin to set up my classroom! I have been working on compiling and organizing my resources and some new ideas for this upcoming school year, I'm so excited to get back at it! I love my job so very much, and while I appreciate the break so I can refresh, recharge, and prepare for a new grade to teach (well, two new grades... and dealing with it being a split class), I do love being back with the kids and taking them on their educational journey.
Obviously if you follow Ontario politics, you might realize that things are getting quite heated between Ontario Teachers and the Provincial Government right now, as our collective agreements are expiring and our premier would like to completely take away our right to collective bargain with our local school boards... however, I'm not focusing on that and will most likely not blog much about it. Frankly, I am proud to be an Ontario educator, proud of the effort I put in to this job, and as a fairly new teacher I'm not as well-versed with all the politics of the job. Right now, I'm focusing more on preparing for an amazing year for my next batch of students, and I am just eager and excited to get back in, start setting up, collaborate with my co-workers, and then dive in to a new school year on September 4th. It might turn out to be a bit of a different year, if contract negotiations continue to be a big issue (which I'm sure they will), but while I am supportive of my union, I am mostly planning on just doing the best I can through it for my kids.
No matter your opinion on teachers, as I've been learning by reading comments on Toronto Star articles lately that so many people absolutely despise Teachers -- nameless entities that they treat as "others", as "greedy", well... I know that all the teachers I know and work with mostly just want to do our best job for our students. So don't listen to all the garbage you hear in the news, is pretty much what I'm trying to get at. There is a lot being said by the Government about Teachers right now that is completely fabricated and ridiculous, just sayin'. We are definitely the ones putting students first, no matter what the Liberals would like the public to believe.
ANYWAY, I am SO excited for "back to school"! I wonder how the kids are feeling?! HAHA!

August, Oh My!
I know I am not the first one to say this, but I cannot believe it is already AUGUST! I have been enjoying this summer, but it sure has felt FAST. There is still lots of exciting stuff happening in August, including a four-day course next week provided by my school board as a grade-specific summer institute (so, I'll be in sessions relating to planning for and teaching a 3/4 combined class this fall -- a very new adventure for me!). I said that I would wait and think about the coming school year in August, well... here we are.
I am not allowed back into my school to set up my classroom until the very last week of August this year (due to the caretaker cleaning schedule). I am so excited to get in there and get set up. It's one of my favourite parts of teaching, preparing my classroom to become a welcoming environment for encouraging my students to want to be there every day! Because I've been changing teaching assignments so much, I've been moving classrooms completely, and I get to set up a room from scratch each time. It's a lot of work, especially in no air conditioning in late August, but it's really exciting and fun.
In between those two things, Mr. Lock and I are spending five nights at a cottage his parents rent each year (and have rented every year since Mr. Lock was four-years-old or so). We went there last summer, and it is just such a lovely lake and peaceful location. I love being at a cottage, and am really looking forward to this trip. While we are there, Mr. Lock's aunt and uncle will be there as well and I do love spending time with extended family!
Oh, before the cottage but after my course (following me? Disjointed writing straight from the heart FTW!)(ahem)... we also have Quin's bridal shower! I am really looking forward to it. We have a few games planned, and Quin should receive some lovely, much-needed gifts for her new home. It will be such a great afternoon with about 22 ladies, a fun send-off into the world of marriage for one of my BFFs.
I also think I'm finally going to go see the new Batman movie. I've had trouble feeling okay going to see it in theatres (anxiety disorder FTL), but I know I just need to get my butt back to the theatre again to feel better. I'm sad there was a tragedy, but I also cannot allow a crazy person's horrible choice in one circumstance to stop me from doing what I enjoy ("feel the fear and do it anyway", a quote I try to live by).
Alright, so in a totally disorganized way...which I'm not bothering to edit for flow because hello?! It's a BLOG and should sound like I'm journaling sometimes...where was I? Oh yes, so... that's August. I just know it'll speed up and be over before I know it, and there I will be in my next classroom with my new group of students. I'm just glad I love my job so much.

Head Colded
I have, once again, a whole bunch of stuff to blog about... but ... it's the last three weeks of school... I've got to get these report cards done!
Also.... I was smacked down with a head cold today. I woke up with my nose completely stuffed, head fuzzy, so tired.... ack. We had a wedding shower to go to for Quin and Mac today, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't be my usual social/bubbly self there... but I did my best. Now, I'm just back home totally out of it. No motivation for report cards, fuzzy head so I can't really type up anything on the blog that I have to *think* about.
It's going to be an early night to bed, I need to combat this cold quick!
So, I'm here... I'm just fighting my way through the end of the school year... check back soon and maybe I'll have more interesting content again, hahaha. GEEZE!

Top o' the Morning To Ye!
It the report card writing time of year for teachers, so of course I could not sleep in an extra wink this morning! I woke up at 7 am... Okay...yes, if you're a Mom you are thinking "That IS sleeping in!"... but alas, remember your 20s and the joy of getting to sleep in until 10 or 11 am?! Well, that's where I am in life and damn it I will enjoy it for as long as I can!
Where was I?
Oh yes.
So, I wake up at 7 am... and toss, and turn, and try to fall back asleep... but nope. I can't keep the thoughts of all I need to do to get these report cards finished out of my mind. It doesn't matter that I got further last night than I was originally expecting... nope. By 8 am, that was it. Up and out of bed for me.
Does that mean I've spent the past hour working away furiously at those darn things?! NOPE! I've just been browsing the Interwebz, yo. Productive use of my time FOR THE WIN (Sense the tone).
I have found report cards especially trying this year. I think teaching ten of the same students from the year before makes it challenging, as I want to ensure the reports sound fresh and individualized. I have eight subjects to report on, and then the general learning skills comments for the front page of the report card. That's quite a lot. Ah well, they'll get done. I'm ahead of the schedule I set for myself, so I don't need to feel so panicked... it's just natural this time of year to feel that way up until they are printed out and handed in for administrator approval and signing.
Yesterday was my grandmother's birthday, she turned 79 years young. Today, along with my aunt, mom, and grandma, I'm off to see a stage production of West Side Story. I'm looking forward to it, as I've never seen West Side Story before - movie or on the stage! It's a classic, and I'm eager to add it to my list of theatre productions I've seen.
I mean, that list includes Bring it On: The Musical and Legally Blonde: The Musical... might be time to add a few more classics in there!
Enjoy your Saturday! I'm going to shower, then vacuum, and do all sorts of random things to avoid the very report cards that are causing me to lose sleep. Does that make sense? No. But my condo is always its cleanest at report card time! Productive procrastination is my favourite.

Boredom: A Blessing
It's a random Wednesday night and I am b-o-r-e-d BORED! But, as I write that... I realize how long it has been since I've felt this way! Which is a nice thing to think about. I've been so pleasantly busy between school work, events with my friends or family, spending time with Mr. Lock, and taking care of my condo. I think I should be trying to enjoy or appreciate an evening of boredom.. because I know I'll be busy again very soon.
I have the following coming up:
1) Helping Quin & Mac move into their new place
2) Report Card Writing (ahhhh!)
3) Wedding Showers
4) End of the year organization and classroom clean-up (only 5.5 weeks of school left, yipes!)
5) A trip to Las Vegas
6) Other wedding events (An MOH's job is never done! I love it, though!)
Plus various tickets to various events, like Bring it on: The Musical, as well as West Side Story (which I've never seen on stage before!), and to see Joel McHale live at Casino Rama (squee!). There are still so many movies I want to see too, and more coming out throughout the upcoming months. I didn't get a chance to post about it, but The Avengers was completely full of the awesome. Now I've been in a bit of a movie-viewing lull, so I need to make a list again soon of movies I'm looking forward to seeing in theatres!
Oh, and Mr. Lock is moving in with me... so that'll keep me a little more occupied as well! ;-)

Now I've been in a bit of a movie-viewing lull, so I need to make a list again soon of movies I'm looking forward to seeing in theatres!
Oh, and Mr. Lock is moving in with me... so that'll keep me a little more occupied as well! ;-)
So, instead of continuing to whine over my extreme boredom tonight.. I am going to savour it. It's lovely to have a chance to have "nothing to do". Sigh! What luck!

Happy Mother's Day!
Just a note to wish all the mothers out there a wonderful Mother's Day! It's beautiful and sunny where I am, just a perfect Sunday. I hope your family showers you with love and appreciation!
I saw my mom yesterday, as it was also her birthday. We spent most of the day together, and then went out for dinner with my dad and Mr. Lock. We had cake at home, and then played a game of cards with a couple who are best friends with my parents. It was really a nice evening.
Today, Mr. Lock and I are making dinner for his mom, as well as his brother and sister-in-law. We're making a lasagne dinner, because apparently I make lasagne well.... I've never cooked for parents before, haha. I've cooked when friends are coming over, but suddenly this feels so different! Mr. Lock is an amazing cook, and cares so much more about cooking than I do... yipes. Good thing we're doing this together. But anyway, I'll get through it.
My grade two class was very excited to make their mother's day gifts at school last week. We made cards and tissue paper flowers, and also these adorable hand print art pieces. I took a couple of pictures, but then forgot to bring my camera home from school! Oops! So, I will show you those later.

Random Stuff, Hello Internet World Let's Do Bullets!
- I am still living at my parents house, will be here until late Saturday afternoon methinks! I do love spending the extra time with my puppy. I'm also enjoying 3rd Rock from the Sun repeats on TVTropolis.. another channel I do not get with Bell TV's basic package but would with Rogers! (I will so be switching when I move next).
- I did go to my condo tonight though, because OVER TWO WEEKS SINCE IT BROKE my dryer was finally repaired! HOORAY! IT HEATS! I, fortunately, was able to bring laundry to my parents house and so I didn't suffer too badly (yes, yes, "first world problems").
- After a fantastically fun Avengers Prequels movie marathon with my friends, I will be missing out on seeing The Avengers on opening weekend... because we cannot find a 2D showing of the film. I cannot see 3D films properly!!! I am SO UPSET when movies do not have a 2D option somewhere. It isn't fair to us 3D impaired!!! It better be shown in 2D at some point after they make their extra money over opening weekend (I know your SCHEME, Cineplex/Hollywood/Everyone who has more money than I)... otherwise, I'll be waiting for the DVD. SAD SADNESS!!! I am NOT the only person I've met who cannot stand 3D (seriously, the glasses do not work over my regular glasses, and the only thing I can do is try to close one eye completely and then I can sort of see the film 2D... not pleasant, and not worth the money so I'm refusing to spend it!).
- I want to make May 4th fun for my Star Wars loving boys at school. What can I do to commemorate Star Wars Day with 7- and 8-year-old kids?! ("May the Fourth Be With You" is what I'm referring to, if you're not sure what the heck I'm talking about!).
- Life is good, everyone, I'm just a lazy blogger as of late.

Counting Down to New Glasses Month!
Lately my glasses have been driving me absolutely NUTS. I’ve worn glasses since I was four-years-old,
and every time I’m due to get a new pair, I DO.
I have astigmatism and I’m near-sighted, and I’m practically blinded by blurriness,
essentially. I’m finally coming up to my
next eligible eye exam period, to be covered by my health plan. April can’t come soon enough, as far as my
eyeglass issues go!
Since moving near Richmond Hill, Ontario I’ve considered getting an eye exam there. There’s a location called Optical Eyeworks not too far from me. I like that it’s open until 7 pm every Monday to Friday, and has Saturday hours. That makes it really accessible. They also seem to offer complimentary eyewear tune-ups even if you didn’t buy your original glasses from them, so I may need to venture over to Optical Eyeworks and check them out.
I’ll probably scrap the idea of a Richmond Hill eye exam, though, because I’ve been with my same optometrist for so long. He’s only about 25 minutes away from me by car, and I feel a sense of loyalty to his practice. I’ve never had an eye exam done by anyone but him in 22 years of wearing glasses! The one thing I will do this year, which I’ve also never done before but have wanted to for awhile, is ask my optometrists office for a copy of my prescription so I can order myself a pair of back-up glasses or prescription sunglasses from somewhere other than my optometrists office. Every year, I’ve bought my glasses immediately following my appointment, but I’ve heard – and seen – that there can be much better deals elsewhere.
All I know is, I’m sick of my current pair and the way they feel heavy on my ears by the end of the day and just generally drive me NUTS! I will be so excited in April when I can finally get something new, and you can bet I’ll be searching for really light-weight frames.
If you’re a glasses-wearer like me, do you get as excited as I do when you’re able to get new frames?! I’ve had them offer to just put my new lenses in my old frames and I have ALWAYS said NO! haha. I’ve never worn contact lenses, by the by, always just had a regular pair of glasses to wear every day.

Just Keep Swimming...
I have so much I want to blog about! I feel like I'm getting behind in the stories I want to share! I've done fun things, like attend a Mark's (formerly Mark's Work Warehouse) event in downtown Toronto for their Spring and Summer line of clothes. A full post WILL come soon about that! I've had some funny things happen in the classroom, too, and I will definitely share those stories. Eventually!
For now, report cards continue to kick my behind! However, they are due tomorrow. I just need to hunker down and finalize these last two parts... then I can just read them over and edit where needed. Once I print these suckers off and hand them to my Principal tomorrow, I will be DANCING.
Fortunately tomorrow is a PA Day, and we only have meetings for the morning. I'm going to have time to do any last minute editing tomorrow afternoon, plus organize and clean my classroom a bit because it is getting disastrous again.
So, though I want to write posts about so many other topics... for now you get this small ramble. I am still here, and so much is coming. First, I have to focus on these reports. What's that line I love from Finding Nemo? ... Just keep swimming, just keep swimming... just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...

I have no title, umm, I'm a Tired Teacher
You guys, I am exhausted.
EXHAUSTED!
I seem to be battling a cold of some kind that I cannot shake. I'm all tuckered out, and congested. I'm drinking fluids, taking vitamins and additional vitamin C, drinking tea.. blargh. Anyway, it's making my brain pretty scattered too. I thought of a whole bunch of blog posts today, and now that I'm home at my computer I cannot remember a single idea!
This first week back at school has been pretty good, other than this cold. My students have been behaving quite well following the break, they were eager to jump back into routine -- as kids usually are. I just have to be honest, I am so glad tomorrow is Friday anyway. hahaha. I love my job, but oh em gee, I am tired.
Here's a funny "overheard in grade two" quote from this week. My kids went off to music, and later their music teacher came to me because she just had to tell me this story. She said that she was asking the kids what they did over the holidays, and one student said they travelled to New York City.
Another student, the one who is the youngest in my class but has an old soul, chimes in with this: "New York! That's where dreams come true."
He just turned 7 on the second last day of December. I heart him, he's a little old man and it's adorable.
This post is completely random and not well planned, but sometimes that's what blogging is... a stream of consciousness. And my consciousness is barely conscious, so it's pretty realistic right now. I'm a little like, "sleep now, yes."

Sheer Exhaustion!
I am so looking forward to Christmas Break at school -- just these three weeks to go! Next week the grade twos are all putting on a holiday show, which should be fantastic, it's just been SO MUCH WORK preparing for it! I'm exhausted, and we still have a week and a half until the performance.
This weekend was a busy as I said it would be, leading into a very hectic Monday at work. I'm enjoying being able to hang out on my couch tonight in front of the TV, watching my Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVDs. I'm working my way back through season five, six and seven because I only recently acquired those DVDs and I never really re-watched these episodes from back when they were originally aired. I'm on the fifth episode of season six, and am getting closer to the Buffy musical episode which was one of my FAVES. Mind you, I love when ANYTHING is musical.
Anyway, I am just so happy to be lounging on my couch tonight. I want to post a review of The Muppets (so good!) but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I will update you by letting you know that we found a dress for Quin's wedding, and all of the bridesmaids love it so we went ahead and placed our orders! The dress was from David's Bridal, and it's this one (this is the colour too, though it is not as vibrant/bright blue as the image seems on my screen, so it's not necessarily fully accurate off of the website to what it's like in person) :
It's quite elegant and yet fun too, and comfortable as well! I love that it has pockets (pocket dress! squee!). It's perfect for her September 8th wedding, which is still summer like!
Now back to Buffy, and relaxing, and then it's early to bed for this tired teacher!

I really wanted to participate in this "Accents Vlog" thing that people are doing, but I didn't want to post a video because of the more anonymous nature of my Blog these days. So! Sample Sale
I'm a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic" book series (and, well, everything else Sophie Kinsella writes too). In "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan", Becky Bloomwood gets her first taste of a "sample sale"; designer clothes, marked down, secret locations, the whole deal.
This morning, Quin and I got our first taste of a sample sale as well.
It was a designer sample sale, with a lot of jeans and then a variety of designer tops, jackets and sweaters. The first thing that I found HILARIOUS? How very expensive it all still was! Mostly because I rarely shop designer for anything, and much prefer heading down to the outlet malls in the States to shop as cheaply as I possibly can. I have nice stuff, I just don't have over the top name brand stuff. So, the jeans were out for me right away. Sure, they were super high quality, but I'm not buying $198 jeans (that's AFTER THE DISCOUNT)! I cringe when I pay $50 for jeans, even though that's typically an okay price for "good" jeans since it's hard enough to find great fitting jeans anywhere anyway! So, the prices made me giggle, since I'm such a discount girl in the first place.
It was fun though, to sort through the piles of designer clothes and see what you could find. I didn't walk away empty handed. They had a whole bunch of Bench brand stuff, and Bench is just SO DAMN EXPENSIVE, and yet so comfortable and fun, that I couldn't resist. I did get a deal, based on Bench original prices. I ended up with two hoodies (which will look great with jeans for Friday work days -- jeans I will be buying at American Eagle or somewhere else later on, haha). I got them at half of their original price. I also got a really nice black fall jacket (also Bench), that's light and looks great on. It was a bit pricey, but again better than what you'd typically pay for Bench in the Bench store. I also always have trouble finding jackets that I feel confident wearing and that are actually somewhat stylish, so I don't mind paying for a more expensive brand just to get something that's actually nice.
So, my first designer sample sale! Still an expensive venture, but if you DO like designer brands, it was worth it compared to what you'd pay for in the actual stores! A fun morning, nonetheless! Thanks, Quin!

I am SO grumpy!
I am in a SOUR MOOD tonight. And I shouldn't be, I had a nice day. I even got to help out with the kindergarten concert night, which was so cute. However, I got home... after being away at my mom's place for three nights... and ever since I've just been upset and moody! I finally got to see Mr. Lock, for a short visit before he went to play hockey, after not seeing him since Sunday and all I ended up doing was crying to him a bit because of feeling forlorn about job prospects for the fall.
Here's what's making me MOODY right now:
1) The aforementioned LACK OF JOB PROSPECTS for this fall. There is ONE long-term teaching position for the fall that I'm eligible for in my current school (read: the only school I'm known in right now, and it is ALL about who you know), but unfortunately I'm competing against my current teaching partner who I adore. I cannot shake the feeling that I am absolutely not going to be picked for the job, and since I've heard NADA from any other school I've applied to (probably 15 schools, many with more than one position available)... I'm just feeling totally upset. I want my own classroom, I'm not even expecting a permanent position yet... just an LTO. PLEASE, let there be an LTO for me somewhere?
I will go back to supply teaching this fall, and I absolutely understand how things could be WORSE, but my reality right now is that I'm frustrated and despise the idea of having to be a nobody supply teacher after finally having classes of my own. UGH.
2) I cannot watch TV tonight. My TV remote must need new batteries, but I don't have any... and it got stuck on the fuzzy channels, and there's no way to switch it to Video 1 (for TV) or Video 2 (for DVDs) without my effin' remote (there's NO button for this on my TV set, which is an older, annoying TV set by the by). SO... now I'm stuck with NO television or movies for background noise. Just peachy.
3) To top it off, my Internet is going SUPER SLOW. So anything I'm trying to do is just a pain in the ass. My disc drive is also a huge pain in the ass, and trying to watch DVDs on there is not an option right now.
4) The only thing on my To Do list is to fix up my report cards, which I will do, but I am SO DISINTERESTED IN THAT and it's making me grumpy just thinking about it.
5) I also have to make my LUNCH for tomorrow, which I have to bring instead of buy because we're having an outdoor picnic with our students. I suck at making lunches for myself unless I have leftovers from dinner... now I need to go figure out something to make and bring and I'm just annoyed by the process.
So, there you have it. I'm SUPER GRUMPY. It's all for superficial or stupid reasons, but they're MY reasons right now for being in a mood.
Perhaps SLEEP is what I actually need.
