This is another Disney Classic that I used to watch on my old VHS tapes back in the day. While it was no Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast for me (my two FAVES, but I always like "the girly ones" as my mother used to say), I still watched it numerous times as youngster. It had been YEARS since the last time I saw it, but this morning I was lucky enough to attend an event courtesy of Walt Disney Motion Pictures Canada and re-watch this beloved film.
It's exciting to see these Disney films re-released on Blu-Ray DVD. I hope new generations of children are getting to enjoy them as much as I did throughout my childhood. Lady and the Tramp was originally from 1955, believe it or not, so it's not only a film from my childhood but from my mom's as well! I'll be so excited when the day comes for me to share these timeless movies with my own children (years and years from now, obvs, but whatever! I still look forward to it!).
Oh, and after watching the movie? We were treated to a delicious spaghetti lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory! What a perfect tie-in to this film, and a fun way to have a Saturday date with Mr. Lock.
Yummmm!

LADY AND THE TRAMP Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack
A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely young pedigreed cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound. However, good-hearted Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from potential harm and thus wins Lady’s love and the affection of her human family.

ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that it was your first movie in theatres! I should ask my mom today what mine was, I honestly don't know if I know that information, hahaha.
DeleteIt was fun, sorry you couldn't come. But I'll look forward to the next event we can both attend! :-)
