The Roomate

I didn't write a lot about it here, but at the end of May (beginning of June?), Mr. Lock did in fact move in with me.  This is a Big Deal (yes, capital B, capital D), especially for anyone who knows me in real life and knows that I absolutely CRAVE domesticity.  I'm the type that has been waiting to be a Wife and Mother since I was six-years-old playing house with my dolls... it's really all I'm looking forward to in life, haha.

Anyway, fortunately Mr. Lock was my friend FOR YEARS before we began dating, so he also falls into the category of knowing about my love of traditional, domestic living.  It was SUCH a big deal to me when he finally said, "Yup.  Tell the landlord.  I'll move in for June 1st".

However, funnily enough... it hasn't actually FELT different since he moved in.  It's been over a month, but it's just been smooth-sailing, and since he has many sports and activities, and I've been so busy with school, honestly it feels the same as it did before he moved in (when he was here about five out of seven nights anyway, so I guess this is just the official living together, but before we were semi already doing it). On one hand, it feels a bit odd that it doesn't feel odd or new, but on the other hand... I'm so glad it feels like this.  It's so nice to just live together, without it being any big emotional upheaval, or without there being any bickering or any of that.

So, it's still new-ish... but it's been great, and I'm glad to be able to report that.  We have an easy way about us, and Mr. Lock is so easy-going and diplomatic and happy-go-lucky, life with him is simply awesome.  We each get along great with each others families, and our fathers met when we took them to a Toronto Blue Jays game for Father's Day.  In a couple of weeks, we are going to have a get together with both sets of parents (a BBQ at my parents house) - I'll be glad for our mothers to finally meet.

That's the latest report on my personal life - all is well in relationship-land, and having a roomate has been just swell!
