Her teacher assures me it's not a big deal and that she is fine when I leave and she always says she loves her day at school afterwards, but after nearly half a year it's really starting to wear on me (and worry me). Is it really normal? People kept saying two weeks, then two months, and now I just get sympathetic smiles, but I am kind of at a loss.Leahhttp://twitter.com/lakelinenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2389995093094516889.post-28095164307859498382011-12-20T13:03:40.875-05:002011-12-20T13:03:40.875-05:00I'd like to know how much teachers notice/care...I'd like to know how much teachers notice/care about/deal with interpersonal issues between peers. We're not talking bullying or anything major just typical first grader girl stuff--mean girl behavior, cliques, hurt feelings etc. Seems like my daughter is struggling much more in this area than academics but I don't really consider it the teacher's problem and don't bring it up. But then I wonder if I could/should. Is that even coherent as a question? :)Melissa Haworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07082611282258367597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2389995093094516889.post-69790461992449445332011-12-20T08:16:28.830-05:002011-12-20T08:16:28.830-05:00I often want to know when it's appropriate to ...I often want to know when it's appropriate to let a teacher know if an assignment is stressing the child. Like, if Edward is FREAKING OUT over his spelling words, I don't know if I should mention it---or if that comes across like I think MY child shouldn't have to do anything that's HARD for him.Swistlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13126937282657655091noreply@blogger.com
